Grimsthorpe Festival has so many attractions that it is impossible to list them all, but here a few:
MAIN STAGE
This truly stunning outdoor stage featuring rock and indie bands will make the castle rock!
WORLD STAGE
A world of sound is brought to the very heart of rural Lincolnshire on the World Stage, featuring the very best of world music, dance and display. Experience the universal language of music and take a journey into many exciting new cultures featured at this very English occasion.
FOLK STAGE
You will be spoilt for choice as this popular stage features both traditional and contemporary folk music. With an amazing line-up for 2012 this is sure to be a hit with music lovers.
ACOUSTIC STAGES – BUSK STOPS
These two popular stages at the Festival features many bands and solo artists from all over Lincolnshire and the UK. With a great atmosphere inside a huge marquee this stage showcases raw musical talent without the need for high tech equipment.
UNDERAGE STAGE
A new and exciting introduction to Grimsthorpe Festival, the Underage Stage gives young bands and artists the opportunity to perform at one of Lincolnshire’s biggest events. With its very own recording studio next to the stage run by Access to Music, performers will have the chance to record and learn about what it is like to work in the music industry.
SPOKEN WORD STAGE
Another new addition to the 2012 Festival, the Spoken Word Stage celebrates the diverse and endless gift of the speech. From poetry and prose through to comedy, this stage will entertain and educate, while you laugh and cheer!
THE COURTYARD STAGE
In the peaceful setting of the courtyard by the Grimsthorpe Castle restaurant, The Courtyard Stage will feature a sofa where performers will kick back and jam in a relaxed and laid back style while the audience enjoys a refreshing drink and tucks into a slice of cake or two, or three or...
SHOW ARENA
The Show Arena features many traditional and rural performances that showcase the very best of English country life and culture. From owl and falconry displays and The Side Saddle Associations “A Bit on the Side”, to the Dog Show and Terrier Racing, the Show Arena will have the onlookers in tears of laughter.
WONDERLAND CHILDREN’S AREA
Our Wonderland Children’s Area is found on top of the hill just inside the grazing field, the kids very own festival. Designed for the under 12s, but also perfectly enjoyable for the over 12s, and the very much over 12s, Wonderland Children’s Area is a full on event of interactive music, dancing, singing, storytelling, activity and running about like a five year old who's eaten too many sweets.
GRIMSTHORPE BEER FESTIVAL
Grimsthorpe Beer Festival is a celebration of the very best of real ale and beers from Lincolnshire’s best micro-breweries. As well as a wide selection of Real Ales, there will also be a good range of lagers and bitters, as well as soft drinks.
SIDE SHOWS
Throughout the Festival there will be lots of Side Shows, featuring displays and workshops for festival-goers to enjoy and experience.
FOOD COURT
Food, glorious food! Our Food Court will have something for everyone to enjoy. From quality burgers and chips to world foods, veggie and vegan, to amazing smoothies, this area is where foodies will be in heaven.
FARMERS MARKET
Our amazing Farmers Market is a celebration of the very best produce Lincolnshire has to offer. Blessed to be in a county that has some of the UK’s best producers, this part of the Festival is proud to promote and encourage our wonderful farmers and growers to continue being the best at what they do!
BATTLE OF BRITAIN MEMORIAL FLIGHT
A much loved favourite of the Festival, our good friends at the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight team will be paying us another visit (weather and conditions permitting). This year the Hurricane should be joining the Spitfire and Lancaster. Don’t forget to give them a wave!
CLASSIC CAR SHOW
Calling all petrol heads! Our Classic Car Show boasts over 150 vintage vehicles on display in front of the castle. This year’s display will be the biggest yet with some magnificent examples of the very best in motor engineering and design.
